The helm is fairly straight so that we don't swing the propeller and rudder into the shallow water. We gradually come away from the bank.

Putting some revs on now and pulling away, the Canal de Sambre looks great with all the spring growth. On a hot calm day it is cooler to cruise so that you create some air flow over the boat.

We went on to spend one night in Lobbes with some nice walks for Tilly and then 3 nights in Thuin with brilliant weather and some nice people to meet. We even found a good restaurant in Thuin and the usual good kebab shop. Four locks down the Sambre and then four locks back to Erquelinnes.
